Effective, Compassionate, and Informed Therapy
Have you felt alone in your chronic pain? Like an alien because of your neurodiversity? Misunderstood or oppressed because of your identities?
Ready for a therapist who knows how exhausting it is to navigate a world that was truly not made for you?
About Me
I am Kyle deVries (they/he), a nonbinary multi-racial therapist who wants to center the ways systems harm you and the power you have inside of that. I have experience in working with neurodiversity, chronic health concerns, LGBTQIA+, and BIPOC issues. Any one of these issues has you facing discrimination in most areas of life, and current research has found that there is a relationship between these issues meaning you may be described by several of these.

Areas of Competence
Living with Autism and ADHD can come with a lot of struggles. We can support you in exploring accommodations, building coping strategies, and processing having a stigmatized diagnosis. Also, as a therapist who has been diagnosed with autism and ADHD, I can understand the judgement that can come with stimming, different forms of empathy, sensory needs, and struggles with school/work.
Being a person of color in our nation can come with a form of chronic stress called minority stress as a result of real and perceived systemic and social discrimination. Add on top navigating new or conflicting cultures, and the pressure can be present in every waking (and sleeping) moment. I have the most experience with Southeast Asian and Jewish communities.
In an oppressive society and world our dignity, mental health, and sense of safety will inevitably be harmed. Finding belonging can be difficult even in spaces and groups that are oriented towards LGBTQIA+ community. I hope to support you in finding a way through the shame, isolation, and fear. Together we can also navigate discriminatory medical, work, and educational settings.
You may experience pain everyday, have difficulty caring for yourself and your space, or have a degenerative condition. Together we can help you manage pain, fatigue, grief, daily tasks of living, and navigating systems of healthcare. I can offer support regardless of where you are in the process of your condition: looking for a diagnosis, exploring how to better support yourself, or working towards acceptance of your lifelong condition.
